<h1>Rim Surface</h1><i>V:Absorbe resin reduces vibration and massively improves impact resistance. Disc brake rims are obviously not required to handle the high temperatures induced by prolonged rim braking. We have made the most of this and used our new V:Absorbe resin blends in the carbon layering which cures at a lower temperature. Lower temperature resins are less brittle meaning they have greater resistance to impacts and dampen vibration more effectively.</i>
<h1>Rims</h1><i>A strong and lightweight hookless rim featuring unidirectional T24/30 carbon fibre with 3K weave re-enforced spoke holes. An asymmetric shape which is inverted from front to rear to provide balanced higher spoke tensions meaning tighter spokes for longer. Disc specific rims allow higher strength to weight as no reinforcement is required for a braking surface. The extra wide rim at 30mm (24mm internal) creates a great profile for wider tires, giving more grip and lower rolling resistance.</i>
<h1>Bearings</h1><i>The heart of any wheel. Investing in them makes huge sense. We use high-grade precision smooth-rolling sealed cartridge bearings by EZO Japan.</i>
<h1>Freehub Body</h1><i>Durability is a theme for HUNT as time and money you spend fixing is time and money you cannot spend riding or upgrading your bikes. As a result, we've developed the <em>H_CERAMIK</em> coating to provide excellent durability and protect against cassette sprocket damage often seen on standard alloy freehub bodies.</i>
<h1>Nipples</h1><i>To accompany these high-end spokes we selected brass nipples for our Hunt 4Season wheels. Brass is strong and corrosion resistant plus it has self-lubricating properties to prevent issues that can arise from grit salt on the winter roads corroding the fine threads in alloy nipples. As well as the standard square body we chose nipples with a hex head so you can achieve precise tensioning.</i>
<h1>Rim Bed</h1><i>H-Lock is our tubeless-ready rim bed profile with up-kicks to the shoulders of the tubeless steps which help to create a great rim-well seal for first installation and easy sealing of tubeless tires. The H-Lock profile also locks the beads in place more securely once seated. This is especially important when running lower pressures off road.</i>

The opportunity to open up your riding comes from bikes which have geometry designed to ride excellently with both 700c or 27.5" (650b) wheels. This combination works thanks to the extra volume in a 2" x 27.5” tire, providing an almost identical external tire diameter to a normal road sized 700c wheel with a 33mm tire, leaving the bike geo unchanged. What was needed was a bike that could accommodate the extra tire width, while still running road groupsets, geo and components. These bikes are increasing in popularity and availability continuously!

We're delighted to have designed the ultimate carbon wheels for the job. These wheels are designed to perfectly compliment gravel bikes with dual 650b/700c interchangeability. We’ve designed a specific new rim profile for our new Gravel/Adventure wheels. Key features of this rim that make it great for the focused purpose of drop-bar adventure/gravel road riding are:

Wider 30mm external/24mm internal rim provides excellent ride handling and support for wider tires, and they work perfectly with (up to) 2.2” MTB tires.

The 22mm rim delivers excellent strength needed for the lower spoke counts and higher gear torques from road groupsets when compared to MTB setups.

Asymmetric rim accommodates the front disc and rear cassette hub offsets, and helps build an even stronger and more durable wheelset owing to balanced spoke tensions.

    All HUNT wheels models have to pass our harsh cobbled-rolling-road tests for rider weight limits, please see here for more details. 264lbs is the upper recommended rider weight limit for these wheels. Please include the weight of any luggage in your total rider weight when choosing the correct wheels. If a rider is over 220lbs then an experienced bike mechanic should check the wheel regularly and it is advisable to use tires at max 65psi (observe tire manufacturer's max pressure as this may be lower) as this will reduce the fatigue on the wheelset. We are cyclists ourselves and do of course go above and beyond to offer excellent service if you ever do experience any issues. We carry full spares at very reasonable prices and offer complete support.
