Equipped with HUNT’s new H_Ratchet SGL hub, increased spoke count and oversized, double-sealed cartridge bearings, these wheels provide reliable performance for your most adventurous rides, no matter the weather. The wider asymmetrical rim profile with 22mm internal width accommodates modern road and gravel tires ranging from 25mm all the way up to 50mm, allowing you to confidently roam and discover new routes.

Hand-built with brass spoke nipples and 28 spokes in the rear wheel for extra durability to handle all the salt, rain, potholes and ruts that your winter riding demands.

Whether you're into bikepacking, ultra-long mixed surface routes, or conquering CX courses, our high-specification rims, hubs, and spokes offer durability without compromising on weight.

6061-T6 Heat treated disc specific rims. Asymmetric for balanced spoke tensions and a highly-durable wheel build. H-lock bead-seat for easy and secure tubeless installation.

Built to survive an endless assault from mother nature. The smooth and stable handling inspires confidence on unknown terrain, from gravel to singletrack.

H_Ratchet Rear Hub 40T DBL

New H_Ratchet double-sided system (with two floating ratchet rings). With a 40-Tooth ratchet ring resulting in quick and reliable 9˚ engagement. The freehub features H_Ceramik anti-bite coating to increase durability and reduce gouging from pedaling forces.

Tire Info
HUNT recommends a 25-35mm tire for best performance, tire widths between 25mm and 50mm are also safe to use.  Note: best performance is usually gained by using tire pressures lower than the maximum, you can see our blog post about this, read here. Tubeless-ready for lower weight and rolling resistance. You must not exceed the maximum tire pressure limits set out in the table below or the maximum limit set by your tire manufacturer if this is lower.

HIGH SPECIFICATION COMPONENTS _
Rims

A strong and lightweight 6061-T6 heat-treated rim features an asymmetric shape which is inverted from front to rear to provide balanced higher spoke tensions meaning your spokes stay tight for the long term. A wide 26mm rim (22mm internal), creates an optimal tire profile for wider road tires, giving excellent grip and lower rolling resistance.
NIPPLES


To accompany these high-end spokes, we selected brass nipples. Brass is strong and corrosion resistant plus it has self-lubricating properties to prevent issues that can arise from grit salt on the winter roads corroding the fine threads in alloy nipples. As well as the standard square body we chose nipples with a hex head so you can achieve precise tensioning.
Bearings

The heart of any wheel. Investing in them makes huge sense. We use high-grade double sealed smooth-rolling sealed cartridge bearings
HUNT H_Ratchet 36T SGL

The HUNT H_Ratchet 36T SGL hubset provides a 10-degree engagement angle with improved durability, offering increased engagement surface area while using less shell materials relative to our race-proven pawl-based systems. Ships with Dumonde Tech Pro X freehub grease applied for long service life and contamination resistance. Compatible with 15mm thru-axles for adaptability for all modern road and gravel bikes.
SPOKES

Hand-built with Pillar triple butted spokes, offering lower weight and greater elasticity to maintain tension and add fatigue resistance. The PSR J-bend spokes feature 2.2mm width at the spoke head providing more material in this high stress area. The nipples feature a square head so you can achieve precise tensioning.

Stated wheel weights: Our stated wheel weights reflect the wheelset only; without rim tape, tubeless valves or disc brake lock rings, as is industry standard. While our carbon layup processes are very precise, a 3% variance (lower or higher) in total system weight is completely normal in aluminium rim manufacturing.

All HUNT wheels models have to pass our harsh cobbled-rolling-road tests for rider weight limits, please see here for more details. Max system weight 319 lb(system weight – total weight of fully kitted up rider, bike and luggage). If the system is over 273 lb then an experienced bike mechanic should check the wheel regularly as this will reduce the fatigue on the wheelset. We are cyclists ourselves and do of course go above and beyond to offer excellent service if you ever do experience any issues. We carry full spares at very reasonable prices and offer complete support.
