The Purpose _

The HUNT Gravel Race 700c wheelset was designed to offer super-sharp performance on the path less pedalled. The line between road and gravel has never been more blurred, so we built a wheelset that could excel on gravel and fast off-road segments, while providing the responsiveness and durability riders demand.

Lightweight 6069-T6 alloy rims offer quick acceleration, combined with our straight-pull Sprint hubs, providing just 7.5 degrees of engagement. Whether going full gas on the flats or cresting over a climb, you’ll be ready for whatever terrain lies ahead.

700c 6069-T6 Heat treated. Tubeless-ready. Disc specific (no disguised rim braking surfaces). Rounded 25mm profile. Micro-peened finish strengthens the surface even further. H_LOCK bead-seat for easy and secure tubeless installation.

Sprint Hubs

Race Season SPRINT straight-pull hubs, boasting an engagement rate of just 7.5 degrees owing to the leaf-sprung, multi-point pawls and 48 ratchets in the hub shell.

Tires

Tubeless-ready for lower weight, lower rolling resistance and improved puncture resistance. Also works excellently with clincher tires and tubes. Optimised for 30-45mm tires, and compatible with 25-55mm tires.

A strong and lightweight 6069-T6 heat-treated rim boasts 69% higher tensile strength vs 6061-T6 alloy. The updated Gravel Race Disc features a wider 24mm internal and 28mm external rim width, creating an optimal tire profile for wider gravel tires, giving excellent grip and lower rolling resistance.

Spokes

The CX Delta is one of the latest offerings from Sapim, offering the aero advantage of a bladed CX Ray, with the durability of a D-Light. SCFT (Sapim Cold Forging Technology) ‘Stretch’ the spoke while retaining the linear Molecular structure of the material, thereby increasing the spoke strength at the middle by at least 48%.

SPRINT HUBS

Featuring 3 multi-point pawls with 3 teeth each and a 48t ratchet ring. The result an impressively low 7.5 deg engagement angle. Durability is a theme for HUNT, and so all our freehub bodies have Steel Spline Insert re-enforcements to provide excellent durability against cassette sprocket damage often seen on standard alloy freehub bodies.

BEARINGS

The heart of any wheel. Investing in them makes huge sense. We use high-grade double sealed smooth-rolling sealed cartridge bearings.
NIPPLES  

The conical shape of the double square nipple allows for increased accuracy in wheel building when combined with a nipple washer, allowing us to create evenly tensioned wheels with reduced stress points at the spoke hole.

The consequence of the fanatic attention to detail is incredible durability and a resulting low 1403 gram wheelset weight. Acceleration and climbing are massively improved over many of the stock wheels supplied on CX/gravel disc brake bikes.

Stated wheel weights: Our stated wheel weights reflect the wheelset only; without rim tape, tubeless valves or disc brake lock rings, as is industry standard. While our carbon layup processes are very precise, a 3% variance (lower or higher) in total system weight is completely normal in aluminum rim manufacturing.

All HUNT wheels models have to pass our harsh cobbled-rolling-road tests for rider weight limits,please see here for more details. Max system weight 297 lb(system weight – total weight of fully kitted up rider, bike and luggage). If the system is over 273 lb then an experienced bike mechanic should check the wheel regularly. We are cyclists ourselves and do of course go above and beyond to offer excellent service if you ever do experience any issues. We carry full spares at very reasonable prices and offer complete support.
