RE:NEW HUNT 40 Limitless Gravel Aero UD Carbon Spoke Wheelset

Patented Limitless Width Aero Technology

HUNT-patented Limitless Width Aero manufacturing process allows for a wider external rim shape while minimizing material mass, utilizing a strip of low-density structural polymer inserted in a molded channel within the rim sidewall with carbon molded over it. The wider shape and the more blunted the spoke bed increases aerodynamic performance across a wider range of yaw angles (as the airflow is predictable and does not separate to the same degree), resulting in fast, ultra-stable rim shapes without the weight penalty.

Front & Rear Specific Rim Design

The wider front rim profile (36mm wide ext/27mm wide int) provides an optimized aero interface at the leading edge of the bike, reducing drag and offering predictable handling in crosswinds. The increased internal rim width on the front design provides improved traction and cornering performance due to the more open tire profile. The rear of the bike encounters more turbulent air flow, allowing for the engineering team to optimize the rear rim profile (35mm wide ext/26mm wide int) for power delivery and weight savings.

Wind Tunnel Tested

Aerodynamically optimized for 40 and 45c tires. The rounded U-shaped hookless rim profile reduces aero-dynamic drag across yaw angles. HUNT’s in-house engineering team, leveraging CFD analysis and 3D prototyping, along with the proven validation method of wind tunnel testing, has raised the expectation level for aerodynamic efficiency while simultaneously reducing the wheel system weight and increasing responsiveness, creating a world-beating combination of performance attributes.

H_Ratchet 48T DBL Hub & Freehub Body

Featuring HUNT’s H_Ratchet double-sided system (with two floating ratchet rings), with a 48t ratchet ring resulting in just 7.5˚ engagement. Durability is a theme for HUNT, and so all our freehub bodies have a H_CERAMIK coating, a process similar to anodization to increase its density and hardness of the surface laser to provide excellent durability against cassette sprocket damage often seen on standard alloy freehub bodies.

Precision Bearings

Double sealed stainless steel cartridge bearings offer smooth, reliable service with low friction. Or upgrade to the Industry leading CeramicSpeed ceramic coated bearings, designed specifically for our H_Ratchet hubset to maximize durability and performance.

UD Carbon Spokes

TaperLock UD carbon spokes offer up to a 6% increase in lateral responsiveness against steel equivalents. Only 2.7g per spoke and yet can handle tightening forces of ~450kgf per spoke. Owing to the TaperLock technology, these spokes can be trued using a spoke key from inside the rim bed.

Tire Width Optimisation

Designed with 27/26mm internal rim width optimized for 40mm and 45mm tires. ETRTO-compatible for tire sizes 35mm and 60mm and tubeless-ready.
