The Purpose.

Engineered for the demands of Queen stages found in modern road racing, the 4AM Limitless maintains speed and composure from fast flats to high alpine mountain roads. By optimising the balance between weight, aero drag, and stability, the HUNT in-house engineering team has set the standard for mid-depth road wheels.

Drawing on 10 years of wheel development, materials innovation and an evolving process of aerodynamic and real-world testing, the 4AM Limitless was created using a complete system approach to performance. Each component of the wheel system was engineered, vetted and validated through HUNT’s 5-Stage Aero Development process, to make riders faster in actual racing conditions, not just on paper.

Designed by HUNT’s in-house engineering team, the 4AM Limitless is the stablemate to our flagship 5AM – it shares the same rider-first philosophy and aerodynamic DNA, but tuned for those who want Limitless performance in a more versatile, everyday package. Built on years of aerodynamic learning and the same 5-Stage Aero Development process that shaped the 5AM, the 4AM is engineered to perform in the real world, with a rider on the bike. Through this proven, layered development process and patented Limitless Width Aero Technology, performance is maximized to achieve the optimal balance between aerodynamics and weight, delivering the fastest wheel system available under 50mm.

The front wheel runs in clean air, offering the greatest opportunity to reduce drag. By increasing rim depth and width, while minimising rotational drag through reduced spoke count, hidden spoke nipples and low profile hub design, we maximize aerodynamic efficiency where it matters most without compromising crosswind stability.

The rear wheel encounters turbulent airflow, downstream of the front wheel, frame, and rider movement, making rear wheel aerodynamic gains less important in the context of the complete system. Rear wheel efficiency is achieved by reducing weight and maximising power transfer. A shallower, narrower rim paired with additional spokes delivers enhanced responsiveness and efficient transmission of every watt to the road.

4.06 watts faster than the ZIPP 353 NSW with a 30mm tire. Paired with a 28mm tire, the 4AM Ti_UD performed 0.32 and 1.25 watts faster than the deeper and heavier Roval Rapide CLX II and ZIPP 454 NSW wheels, respectively.

In outdoor testing, conducted in partnership with Dr. Barnaby Garrood at Aerosensor™, the rotational drag reduction of the more aerodynamic spoke design and lower spoke count, play an important role in developing the best road racing wheelset to the market.

Advanced Carbon Construction

4AM Limitless rims are made using a blend of T700, T800, and T1000 UD carbon fibers, with high-modulus Mitsubishi Pyrofil HR4012M - a material more common in aerospace, aviation and motorsport applications. This blend offers lateral and sidewall strength, enabling low weight without compromising durability or trueness. The high gloss finish resists dirt build up and helps minimise aerodynamic skin drag.

Ti_UD VONOA Carbon Spokes

The top of the wheel moves through the fork at twice the speed of the bike, meaning small design features add up to large aero gains. We have combined a slim frontal profile with elongated bladed shape for improved aerodynamic efficiency. Titanium Ti6-4AL-4V end hardware keeps weight exceptionally low, while maintaining strength and resistance to corrosion.

Hidden Spoke Nipples

Internal spoke nipples further reduce aerodynamic and rotational drag across the wheel system.

Limitless Aero Maximized Front Rim

HUNT patented Limitless Width Aero Technology enables us to build a rim that possesses wide, blunt dimensions and class-leading aerodynamic and side wind handling characteristics, whilst maintaining a weight that won’t detract from the all-round performance of the wheelset. What does that mean on the road? The wheel carries speed like a deeper wheel, with the stable feel of a shallower wheel.

Chase SLC Hub

The Chase SLC hubset is our premium hubset that has evolved from the race winning 48T DBL ratchet system, developed for our Limitless Road and Gravel Range. Coming in at an astonishing 289g for the pair, a reduction in weight found from the utilisation of higher grade 7075 alloy. This has been tested to withstand over 100,000 cycles at 250Nm of torque, providing exceptional reliability, sprint after sprint.

CeramicSpeedWheel Bearings

HUNT have partnered with CeramicSpeed to exclusively bring a yet-to-be-released wheel bearing offering the optimal balance between performance and durability to the wheelset. Hand-built in Denmark, these bearings feature a ceramic ball with stainless steel bearing race for industry-leading performance.

These wheels come with  H_Care  FREE  Lifetime Crash Replacement which aims to protect your investment in HUNT technology by enabling first owners of eligible HUNT wheels free access to any HUNT-branded replacement parts and labour to repair in the event of damage through intended use. We will cover the reasonable cost of the labour to repair your wheels at a local bike shop or professional bike mechanic or perform the work free of charge at our nearest office. If a repair is unrealistic, we will replace your damaged wheel. 

Stated wheel weights: Our stated wheel weights reflect the wheelset only; without rim tape, tubeless valves or disc brake lock rings, as is industry standard. While a 3% variance (lower or higher) in total system weight is completely normal in manufacturing.
