The Purpose _

The Proven Carbon Race XC is our flagship tuned wheel system engineered completely in the UK and tested across the globe by our athletes and riders, now available with the Classified hub shell integrated into the rear wheel. The tailored carbon rim layup provides maximum comfort and compliance at the front, with a stronger, more supportive layup developed for the rear. Together these rims offer the best balance of compliance and strength while retaining low weight and high durability for more time racing and exploring and less time servicing.

NOTE:The Classified Powershift internal system and electronics must be supplied by select Classified dealers. This wheelset does not contain the complete system. The rear wheel is delivered with the Classified hub shell, without the Powershift hub internals. Please contact our Rider Experience team with any questions.

Classified Powershift Rear Hub Shell

The Powershift hub offers unrivalled shift quality, high gearing range and small steps in between gears combining the benefits of both 1x and 2x drivetrains. Center-lock brake mount.

Hookless/Straight Sidewall Design

Featuring a hookless/straight-sidewall with tailored carbon construction with 3k carbon weave reinforcement. Both front and rear rims feature tuned profiles with a future-proof 30mm internal rim width.

Spokes

Each bladed spoke is cold forged and boasts a 30% reduction in weight with no compromise in strength. Strong, fast, lightweight, and they look good too.

Bearings

Super smooth, replaceable, 6902 RS Revo bearings offer fast rolling performance. Dual full-contact seals and long-lasting, heat-resistant grease protect against water ingress for longer service intervals.

TECHNOLOGY _

Building on the engineering and development of the Proven Carbon Race XC, we have teamed up with Classified to offer a Classified x Proven Carbon Race XC edition wheelset that combines our tuned performance with the slick operating wireless transmission 2-speed Powershift system.

The mountain-bike-specific 148 Powershift hub is compatible with all modern Boost framesets and is specifically developed to handle the rugged demands of off-road riding. Each Powershift hub shell is hand laced to an updated Proven Race XC carbon rim with revised spoke hole geometry to ensure our unique ride characteristics remain intact while incorporating the larger hub shell.

The hub shell arrives ready for the installation of a Powershift system out of the box (available only through Classified certified dealers). This wireless 2-speed hub system provides riders with a 530% gear range, instant shifting under load, and a lightweight yet durable transmission with an improved chain line. Moreover, as Powershift only requires a single chainring, it won't adversely affect bikes with rear suspension.

HUNT recommends a 2.4"-2.6" tire for best performance, tire widths between 1.85" and 2.8" are also safe to use. Note: best performance is usually gained by using tire pressures lower than the maximum, you can see our blog post about this, read here. Tubeless-ready for lower weight and rolling resistance. Only use tires marked as compatible with hookless (TSS) rims. You must not exceed the maximum tire pressure limits set out in the table below or the maximum limit set by your tire manufacturer if this is lower.

All HUNT wheels models have to pass our harsh rolling-drum fatigue tests for rider weight limits, please see here for more details. Max system weight 135kg (system weight total weight of fully kitted up rider, bike and luggage). If the system is over 125 lb then an experienced bike mechanic should check the wheel regularly and it is advisable to use tires at max 40psi as this will reduce the fatigue on the wheelset.
