Racing with HUNT isn’t just about winning, we value the passion and community that cycling provides at all levels.
Close to our UK headquarters lies the iconic Goodwood race track: a venue renowned for its motorsports and horse racing. But beyond those, Goodwood also offers a unique opportunity for local cyclists. During the summer months, the track hosts a series of midweek races where riders of all abilities can experience the thrill of competition. Many of our team members have experienced racing through that final chicane.
However, as summer progressed, we noticed a decline in entries for the women’s category. To help address this, our team decided to sponsor entries for Cat 4 women in the final rounds, resulting in a remarkable 8x increase in the number of women on the start line.
We wanted to say a huge thank you to Seb Ottley who continues to organise fantastic races for our local community.
The mind behind the initiative was our Merchandise Planning Manager, Caitlin. Here’s what she had to say:
We came up with the idea when only two ladies signed on for the previous race. Seeing such a low turnout made us realise how crucial it is to encourage and support newcomers to the sport.
This particular circuit is a hidden gem—it's got wide and easy corners, making it the perfect place for anyone to give racing a try, especially those who might be a bit hesitant.
We knew we had to do something to help more people take that first step. Once you experience the thrill of your first race, it can easily become a passion that drives you forward.
The feedback we've received from everyone who participated has been amazing. We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone back next season and hopefully seeing even more new faces on the track."
